History of the New Orleans Pelicans

00s - The Relocation
In 2002 the Charlotte Hornets relocated to New Orleans before eventually getting their team back in a couple of years. New Orleans inherited a team that had been to the playoffs three years in a row already and continued this streak for another two years. After this, they traded Baron Davis to the Warriors and drafted Chris Paul the next year who proved to be a promising young superstar.
10s - Stolen Stars
Chris Paul eventually requested a trade from the Hornets and was sent to the LA Clippers. This sent them on their search for another superstar which they found in drafting Anthony Davis. The team now changed their name to the Pelicans. Davis led them to a couple playoff series before also demanding a trade. He was then traded to the LA Lakers in 2019.
